Naming Ceremonies

A naming ceremony gives people an incredibly personal, opportunity to welcome and to celebrate a new addition to their family.  It is an alternative to a formal Christening and allows families to officially name their new addition in front of loved ones.

The ceremony allows the parents to make a public statement of their commitment to their child, thank their family and friendship circle and share their hopes, dreams and aspirations for the child’s life.

I will write you a bespoke ceremony and will ensure it is tailored to you, your family, your wishes and your beliefs.

If you do not attend a church but still have spiritual feelings and inclinations then I can include these as you so desire. Whether you would like a hymn, a prayer, a blessing, or even a symbolic act such as a a tree-planting or hand casting.

I also consider it a privilege to conduct adoption, step-child, transgender, and transition from childhood to adolescence ceremonies.
